Little Joe

❝i have a girlfriend, she's really insane. she has a boyfriend and a lover and she's married.❞

joe dellasandro has since said that they were just basement films, no one took too seriously. that is until after they were released and he landed on the cover of rollingstone in 1971. andy (yes warhol) hired him as the bodyguard of his precious factory and later cast him in "trash." the story of a few days with a new york junkie moving through scenes of derailed women. the more each one chatted on for minutes on end, the more joe just mumbles with ambivalent agreement. i was screen-shot(ing) every five minutes because i couldn't believe i hadn't seen this film sooner. he's the junkie  i don't particularly care to see get clean because well, he's so damn good at getting by.

dellasandro's character and face reminded me a lot of my friend paul's, whose behavior i usually can't wrap my head around. i'm going to say it: with a face like that you can afford to be a bit absent and thoughtfully selfish. if boys will be boys, then male models will be male models.
